Arts & Democracy Project call on creative action and the Occupy movements (Nov 15)

OCCUPY WALL STREET    ARTS, CULTURE, MEDIA & CREATIVE ACTION   CONFERENCE CALL:  Tuesday, November 15th 2:00pm EST/11:00am PST

Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is a people-powered movement that began on September 17, 2011 in Liberty Square in Manhattan’s Financial District, and has spread to over 100 cities in the United States. The Arts & Democracy Project wants to learn about the ways that artists, media makers, activists and cultural organizers are integrating arts, culture, media and creative action to the Occupy movements. We also want to hear about creative and strategic connections being made between Occupy movements and on-going organizing efforts for equity, sustainability and justice in communities across the country.

Join us for this conference call on arts, culture, media and creative action in the Occupy movements. Join us if you have a project to share, are looking to connect with other projects, or just want to find out what’s happening in communities across the country. To get the call in number, RSVP to rsvp@artsanddemocracy.org and specify that this is for the OWS call by Friday 11/11.  To present a project please rsvp and include a two-line description along with a link to your website or blog, which may be used in our follow-up eblast. We expect about 2 minutes for each presentation, depending on how many we have.
